ATLETICO Madrid' stuttering start to the season continued with a 1-1 draw at Mallorca in La Liga on Sunday, as striker Julian Alvarez missed a penalty and Vedat Muriqi struck late for the hosts.

Diego Simeone’ side, reduced to 10 men after Alexander Sorloth’s red card, took the lead through Conor Gallagher, only for Muriqi to level in the 85th minute. The result leaves Atletico languishing in 12th, with just one win from their opening five league games.
