U'S FACING TOUGH CHALLENGE FOR THEIR LEAGUE ONE SWANSONG

- By STEPHEN PAGE

CAMBRIDGE United head coach Neil Harris acknowledges that his side can’t afford to “switch off” against Birmingham City this afternoon despite their relegation from League One having already been sealed.

The U's host the League One champions at the Abbey on the final day of the season, with United’s four-year stay in the third tier coming to an end today.

Harris’ side round off the campaign by taking on an opponent who have registered a staggering 108 points from 45 matches played, with Chris Davies’ team having broken the Football League record for the most points in a single season.

Reflecting on his side’s relegation, Harris said: “I would've loved to have got to this weekend with something to play for.

“It obviously didn’t materialise, we knew our fate at five o'clock on Saturday, and then it becomes about preparing for the last game.
