Osobu's brace not enough for Rovers

VICTOR Osobu returned to goal-scoring form with a double at Newport Pagnell Town but it proved in vain as the hosts claimed a 4-2 success in United Counties League Premier Division South.

Rovers had started the game well and in the first minute Scott Joseph, who looked impressive on his full debut, had a shot pushed away by Oliver Steinke in the hosts’ goal. Harry Hurst shot over from inside the box, Victor Osobu lobbed the ball over the keeper and wide before latching on to a Luke Young pass but missing the target. However, Newport took the lead with their first worthy effort when Joel Halsall headed home from a corner kick. Just three minutes later Rovers drew level when Joseph headed on a long bal
