CELEBRATIONS AFTER OFSTED INSPECTORS VISIT MARLEIGH

- By ABIGAIL NICHOLSON abigail.nicholson@reachplc.com @Abigail Journo

A NEW academy has been described as “calm” and “welcoming” in its first Ofsted report since opening.

Marleigh Primary Academy, a member of Anglian Learning, is celebrating its first Ofsted rating since opening after being judged as ‘Good’ in all five key areas.

The primary school in Cambridge opened its doors to pupils in September 2022 and officially in 2023.

After an inspection on February 25 and February 26, Ofsted praised the school for its “calm environment” and “good [teacher] subject knowledge.”

The report - published on Tuesday (April 29) - highlighted the primary academy's positive impact, including its teachers’ “strong relationships with pupils.”

Inspectors said that “pupils know that they can get help from an adult if they need it. Those pupils who need additional support with behaviour, receive it.”

Inspectors also praised the school’s inclusive atmosphere and “sense of belonging to the community” among pupils, a factor recognised as critical in their educational journey.

Pupils were described as “warm and welcoming”, particularly to new peers “who arrived from all over the world”.

They “celebrate the diversity that this brings” which “ensures pupils settle in quickly.”
