Kimpton's late goal secures Eynesbury’s passage into next round of FA Vase
Cambridge News
|September 23, 2025
AFTER Eynesbury Rovers’ Wembley hopes were dashed in the FA Cup last weekend they made progress in amore realistic route to the famous arch with a FA Vase 1-0 triumph over Diss Town of the Eastern Counties League First Division North.
-
A Max Kimpton free-kick six minutes from time was enough to secure their passage to the First Round Proper with draw due today.
Rovers were due to face Kirkley & Pakefield but they had fielded an ineligible player in their 2-O win over Diss so the Norfolk club was reinstated into the competition.
The first chance of the game fell to Max Kimpton but his shot came off a defender and went through to Kellett-Green in this Diss goal.
Further chances came to Nathan George, but he headed over from a Lewis Lynn free kick; Michael King had a 20 yard shot cleared before Victor Osobu, on his return from suspension, missed a chance at the back post.
