Fen Tigers roar to win on their West Row return

MILDENHALL Fen Tigers made their long anticipated return to West Row and they didn’t disappoint the large crowd as they claimed a 47-42 success over Isle of Wight Warriors in a Racing in the East challenge.

After weeks of work, the Mildenhall track was ready to stage speedway racing again and over the 15 heats there were no incidents to test either the new foam fence material or the patience of the crowd, as all ran like clockwork.
Both sides found themselves depleted in numbers at the outset: with the young American, Nicolas Holhbein who the IOW Warriors had hoped to give a British racing debut to, unable to travel from his Continental base; and the Pole in the home side’s ranks Patryk Daniszewsli absent due to a family matter.
So, it was a busy evening for the remaining quintet in the two teams, all having to take six rides. For the Warriors' number one, the hugely experienced Ben Morley - extending his record of being the visiting rider who's appeared the most times at West Row - it was to be an unbeaten night as he clocked up a hugely impressive 18 points maximum.
