Building talent pool, supply chain can help India in semicon race'

India can become a leader in the semiconductor industry by building a strong talent pool, offering solutions to the global supply chain challenges and encouraging collaboration between its academia and startups to foster innovation, industry experts said on Thursday.

Speaking at a panel discussion at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023, Suraj Rengorajan, chieftechnology officer, Applied Materials said the whole ecosystem needs to be put together to make India a "semiconductor nation".

"India can be a solution to the global shortage of semiconductor talent and has the opportunity to play a role in the global semiconductor supply chain strategy," he said.
