Project re_haven advances community led reuse ecosystem in Baguio City

PROJECT Reuse Haven for All: Strengthening Community-Based Networks for a Scalable Reuse Ecosystem," also known as Project re_haven, convened a successful stakeholder consultation in Barangay Gibraltar, Baguio City, one of the pilot communities for the initiative's rollout.

Project re_haven forms part of the EU-PH Green Economy Partnership, funded by the European Union in the Philippines under the EU’s Global Gateway initiative and spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The project supports a green, just, and sustainable future by strengthening community-based systems that promote reuse and reduce plastic waste.

The consultation gathered barangay officials, residents, potential partner organizations, and private sector representatives to explore practical, community-driven solutions for reducing plastic pollution and promoting reuse and refill practices. The activity builds on the momentum of the Circular Solutions Innovation Challenge, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, which highlights innovative business models that advance sustainability and lay the groundwork for more inclusive and circular cities.
