PNP on alert for anniversary of Duterte’s transfer to ICC

UNITS of the National Police (PNP) on Monday went on alert for possible protest actions on March 11, marking the anniversary of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s transfer to the custody of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Police chief, said the service's social media monitoring arm has flagged several posts calling for “a massive motorcade rally.”
The planned route reportedly spans the length of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue, ending at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City to commemorate the first anniversary of the former President being taken into international custody to face charges for crimes against humanity.
