House launches program for retirees, constituents
Business Mirror
|March 19, 2026
THE House of Representatives on Tuesday formally rolled out Alagang Kongreso, a three-pronged institutional program that strengthens support for retirees, streamlines public assistance, and introduces a comprehensive health package for its workforce-placing strong emphasis on accessible and preventive healthcare.
House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos said the initiative reflects a broader vision of public service that prioritizes the well-being of both current personnel and former employees.
"Alagang Kongreso is about making care visible. When access to checkups becomes easier, support systems for retirees are clearer, and public assistance is more organized, the institution becomes more humane and service delivery improves," he added.
The program was introduced in three key components: Dakilang Yugto for retired Secretariat personnel, the Suporta sa Bayan Desk at the North Gate Screening Facility, and the HRep Executive Check-Up Program, which was formally presented at the People's Center Cathedral alongside the signing of agreements with partner hospitals.
