House Labor committee pushes alternative work arrangements

THE House Committee on Labor on Wednesday called on the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) and private employers to expand work-from-home (WFH) and flexible work arrangements as part of efforts to conserve fuel and protect workers amid the global energy crisis triggered by the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Cavite Rep. Jolo Revilla, the panel chairman, said Dole must take the lead by issuing clear and updated guidelines, ensuring the protection of workers’ rights, and coordinating with employers to institutionalize flexible work setups across industries.
