Business Mirror
|March 06, 2026
OVERSEAS Filipino workers (OFWs) looking to start businesses in the Philippines may borrow as much as P20 million under a new loan facility launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
According to the DTI, about P2 billion has been earmarked for the “OFW Negosyo Fund” through its financing arm, the Small Business Corp. (SBCorp). Applications for the loan program will open on March 12.
The agency said the facility aims to provide financing for OFWs who plan to set up businesses upon returning to the country, including those who may be displaced from overseas jobs due to external developments such as tensions in the Middle East.
