Women celebrate 50 years at rowing club

A ROWING club has celebrated its 50th anniversary of women being members.

Burton Leander Rowing Club marked the occasion with a special event on Sunday, June 22.
The club now has 120 members, with the split almost even between men and women.
Margaret Bullock (then Beattie) was the first woman to join the rowing club in January 1975, and was also present at the half-century celebration.
