RESIDENTS, community groups, businesses and organisations in East Staffordshire are being invited to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Held on May 8, a series of events will mark the day across Staffordshire, including a special week-end of celebrations at the National Memorial Arboretum, taking inspiration from the iconic street parties of 1945.
Whether in a town, village or city, people are encouraged to join in, whether that be preparing community gardens, hosting craft events, sprucing up their local areas or encouraging children to draw pictures to put in their windows.
People are also being invited to share their photos and pictures of activity on the VE and VJ Day webpage and across social media, using the #VE80 hashtag.
