Step back in time with history talks at library

Mark Rowe, below, will be speaking about Burton women in the Second World War at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 30, at Burton Library.

This follows a talk he presented at Uttoxeter Library on Monday morning about the Fauld explosion.

The 57-year-old interviewed two dozen women for his history degree while a student in the 1980s, and went on to self-publish a book, One in a Thousand, in 1997.

He has also self-published a history of the disaster at the RAF Fauld underground bomb store on November 27, 1944, that killed 70 people and was the largest nonnuclear explosion of the war.
