SCHOOL HOSTS FAMILY EVENT TO SUPPORT BRAVE STUDENT

A SWADLINCOTE school hosted a summer gala to support a brave pupil who has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

Newhall Junior School hosted the gala - which featured live music performances, pay-to-play games, pupil art displays and cake and ice cream stalls on July 22.

The event - organised in collaboration with neighbouring schools Mercia Academy and Newhall Infant School - raised more than £1,000 for Year 3 pupil Freya.
