UDOKA Godwin-Malife will lead Burton Albion into the new season against Mansfield Town at the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow after being named club captain yesterday.

The appointment had been expected, after Godwin-Malife captained the side for Saturday's preseason friendly win over Derby County and lifted the Bass Charity Vase afterwards.
Summer signing Jake Beesley has been named vice-captain.
Godwin-Malife has been among the most successful of last summer's many signings and played 46 games in his first campaign, scoring once, on the opening day.
But his ability to defend with determination and accelerate away from opponents with the ball, along with a never-say-die approach, quickly made him one of the most popular players with supporters.
