TEAMWORK CAN TAKE THE BREWERS A LONG WAY...

- OPINION BY DAN NEWBOULD

ANYONE unfamiliar with Burton Albion who is wondering why they are doing so well need only have watched a few minutes of highlights against Blackpool.

With no England game and the Premier League and Championship off, eyes were on the Pirelli to see if they could put on a show.

Facing a team with a much higher budget and heavily fancied despite the league positions, manager Gary Bowyer himself admitted the Brewers were the underdogs beforehand.

But they went about their business much the same as they did when winning away at Cardiff, away at Bradford, 3-0 against Bolton, which looks all the more impressive of a result with Wanderers' current form. The list is endless.

Anyone looking down on this set of players or this league should sit and admire Jake Beesley's 65th-minute goal.

A highlight reel will show the big striker getting on the end of a cross and heading it into the back of the net.

You may be wondering what the fuss is all about. Goals like that happen every week across the pyramid.

But Beesley will be the first to admit it was all about the build up play that led to it. Simply stunning.
