ALREWAS lost their 100% record in the Beechwood Mazda Derbyshire Premier Division as they crashed by 154 runs away to Cutthorpe.
Some sloppy fielding did not help Alrewas as Cutthorpe piled up 293-5, in which Aneesh Kapil scored 102 from 93 balls with 10 fours and four sixes.
His fifth-wicket partnership of 153 with Primosh Perera, who hit 83 from 68 balls, really took it away from Alrewas and Perera added another quick 44 with Travis Muller when Kapil was out.
Paul Dawson's 2-48 was the pick of the bowling and Alrewas's reply was soon in trouble at 37-4 as Muller took 5-49 in two spells.
Four of their top five did not reach double figures, Freddie Clarke getting a first ball duck, as only Jamie Goodwin’s 55 from 46 balls, with six fours and four sixes, held up Cutthorpe for long in an innings of 139 in only 23.4 overs.
Alrewas are now fifth of a group of five with a 3-1 record, separated by only five points.
Promoted Chesterfield are among the group after easing past winless Rolleston by two wickets.
