THIS is a musical that has acquired a string of nominations for awards since it first emerged 24 years ago in Chicago's Northlight Theatre. Writer and composer Jason Robert Brown and several of the leading actors picked up first prize for one of the several Broadway and London productions.
Virtually every year since that opening date there has been a production on tour in either the USA or UK. Critically it has always received a mixed reception, but despite this and the fact that it has never achieved a lengthy run in any theatre, the show has acquired a cult following.
