New city High Sheriff sworn in

THE new High Sheriff of Bristol was sworn in during a traditional ceremony at the crown court yesterday.

High Court judge Mrs Justice Lambert presided over proceedings in court one of Bristol Crown Court, which saw Anne Nisbet, pictured inset, be appointed to the role.

More than 60 people, including representatives from the city’s emergency services and judiciary, were present for the short swearing in ceremony.

Both Mrs Nisbet and James Myatt, who is continuing the role of under sheriff which he has served as for 25 years, made sworn declarations for their one-year appointment.
