Happily placed at the Hellenic Premier Division summit and fresh off the back of Saturday’s spirit-raising 3-1 home defeat of previous leaders Droitwich Spa, Saints turn attentions now to their multiple cup campaigns, starting tomorrow with a tough away day against fifth-placed Raiders in the third round of the league's flagship UHL Challenge Cup competition.

Roman Glass don’t return to league action until Wednesday, November 12 when Cinderford Town visit Oaklands Park for a 7.45pm clash.

Swiftly following tomorrow's Worcester excursion, Beecham’s boys embroil themselves in derby action this Tuesday (7.30pm) away against Jewson Division One hopefuls Longwell Green Sports for a Gloucestershire Challenge Trophy first-round tie, before Wessex League Premier Division outfit Hamworthy Recreation try their luck on Saints’ generally impregnable 3G pitch for an FA Vase second-round encounter next Saturday 8.

Encouraged, but with feet firmly floored with last season’s promotion near miss still fresh in Saints’ minds, Beecham remarked: “We're in a good place. Sitting top of the league is an excellent effort when you consider we lost six or seven players from last season’s squad.

“We've also welcomed back with open arms Laurent Davis-Wilson our 28-goal top scorer last season.

“Laurent has already made an impact with four goals in the seven games he's played since rejoining us as a left-sided winger with pace and power.

“All the lads have come through a tough spell of seven successive away games pretty much unscathed to get to the top of the table, which is no mean feat.”

The Oaklands Park supremo continued: “I feel we have more strength in depth than we did last season, which is possibly why we faded a bit then.
