Housing Plan for 400 homes in first phase of regeneration scheme

DEVELOPERS have submitted plans to build more than 400 homes as part of the first phase of a major regeneration project in Bedminster.

A full application has been lodged with Bristol City Council for the redevelopment of land between Princess Street and Whitehouse Street, currently occupied by industrial buildings. The proposals form part of the wider Whitehouse Street Regeneration Framework, which was shaped through public consultation and led by the council.
The scheme, developed in partnership by Apsley House Capital and Galliard Homes, includes 437 new homes, of which 87 will be affordable. It also features a 400-bed purpose-built student accommodation block, 12,700 square feet of ground floor employment space, and several publicly accessible green and landscaped areas.
The employment space will be divided into around 20 units and is expected to support a range of uses including healthcare, aimed at activating the area and encouraging footfall.
