Facing jail Trio who helped Max and Mason's killers flee city found guilty

THE families of murdered Bristol teenagers Max Dixon and Mason Rist have thanked the jury for "seeing through the lies" of a group of people who helped their killers get out of Bristol and attempt to evade justice.

- Tristan CORK

Three people were convicted of assisting an offender and a fourth was found to have committed the same offence after a four-week trial at Bristol Crown Court, almost two years on from the murders.

Three now face possible prison sentences, and the sister of Mason Rist said the guilty verdicts were 'the best Christmas present' the families could have received. The convictions bring the total number of people guilty in relation to the double murders to 11, after three separate court cases over the past 14 months.

"I want to say the biggest thank you to the jury," said Chloe Dore, the sister of Mason. "I am beyond grateful for the humanity and restored faith in justice you have given us. My brother Mason would be telling you thank you too.

"I hope and pray you see this and know how appreciative we are. We will never forget the hard job you did and weeks of hearing some awful things that no one trains you for. I hope you get some sense of peace knowing you gave us the best Christmas present, it means a lot that the truth is known and my brother didn't go through what he did for nothing.

"This is the best Christmas present we could have received," she added. "We are beyond thankful to the jury who saw through the lies as we did and to the investigation team who worked tirelessly to make this happen.

"Mason would be so grateful to everyone who helped him, from the time of the incident all the way through to the result today.
