A FORMER world champion boxer has joined forces with a Bristol charity to raise awareness of suicide prevention and break down the stigma surrounding mental health.

Shannon Courtenay has been named as the first ambassador for Suicide Prevention UK after sharing her own experiences of suicidal thoughts and a past attempt to take her own life.
