‘Dance while kettle boils’ Small actions can make a big difference, author says
Bristol Post
|June 22, 2026
BREAST cancer survivor from Bristol is encouraging women everywhere to use the 90 seconds it takes to boil the kettle to dance and improve their health and mental wellbeing.
Grace Ekall is a former dancer and Afro-contemporary choreographer, who has experienced first hand the positive power of movement on the heart and mind. Her personal journey from tremendous pain and burnout following a second cancer diagnosis in 2016, inspired her to create her own revolutionary Holistic African Dance Method and transformative G.R.A.C.E. health protocol. Grace has taught in over 100 schools in Bristol and the South West since moving here from France in 2001.
Grace wrote her book Habits That Heal YOU - which was released last month - to get her methods written down so she could share what was useful with others who might be facing similar life challenges.
The book has already spent time in the Amazon Top 100 Bestsellers list since its release and is being stocked in independent bookshops across Bristol, including Paper Tales and Bookhaus.
Grace wrote her book predominantly with black women in mind, having experienced that black women in her wider community back in Cameroon didn’t talk about their cancer diagnosis.
