City gets first leaning support rail for cyclists

A NEW piece of street furniture has been installed for the first time in Bristol - a railing for cyclists waiting on a hill in the middle of the city.

They are called 'leaning support rails' and offer cyclists, moped riders or e-scooter riders the opportunity to wait for the lights to change on a junction opposite the Children’s Hospital and either lean on the rail with their left arm, or the footboard with their left foot, without having to get off or touch the ground.
