Authorities allow con artists like builder to get away with it

WHAT a horrible but sadly true story of the fraudster builder conning people out of thousands of pounds and causing them immense stress and harm (Rogue builder conned his victims out of £1.25m, Post, October 24).

How did he get away with it for so long? It was The Long Con.

The message about fraud seems to be: don’t trust or expect the public authorities to deal with it. The public sector administrators are part of the problem, not part of the solution. They won’t help you.

Staff at regulators, civilian police staff, Action Fraud staff - none of them really helps you. They are part of the Public Sector Help Con.
