Baker rises to the occasion for Havering with new club best

HAVERING Athletic Club's young athletes rose to the challenge on home turf, recording numerous personal bests on their way to placing second to a very strong Croydon team in their opening Youth Development League, Southern Division One fixture of the season at Hornchurch.

The Under 15 Girls performed strongly with five wins as Ayla Baker led the way with victory in the javelin, extending the club record for the third time in four weeks throwing beyond 40 metres for the first time, also adding a win in the B discus and a runners up spot in the shot.
Dulce Smith-Rodriguez won the B shot and was second in the discus with a new PB and Abigail Adegite was third in the B javelin. Amelie Shearing won the B high jump, equalling her best with Ome Nwapa was third in the A, also equalling her PB.
