Tories defend claims from Reform UK that 'Lincolnshire's broken'

WATCHDOGS FINDINGS ON COUNTY'S PUBLIC SERVICES

"LINCOLNSHIRE is broken" has been the constant claim from Nigel Farage and the Reform UK party.

The group won a resounding election victory on the back of it, and are now in charge of Lincolnshire County Council.

Farage accused the authority of “not moving with the times” and said it needed “more professional business management”.

However, as councillors met for the first time since the election last week, Conservatives defended their record and said the authority was performing well.

But what do watchdogs say about Lincolnshire, and is it true the county's public services are actually broken?

Children’s services and SEND

Ofsted found that Lincolnshire's children’s services were ‘Outstanding’ at the most recent inspection in 2023.

The report said: “Children in care are well cared for and make excellent progress. Most care-experienced young people receive good support to help them to be successful as they move on to independence.”
