'Shock' over felling of trees in park

A Blackpool resident said she was shocked after she saw workmen cutting down a number of mature trees in the town's Boundary Park.

Christine Gregory, who lives near the park on the Grange Park estate, believes it was excessive to chop down so many trees. The company which deals with environmental waste for Blackpool Council says the trees were "over mature" and showing signs of deterioration and will be replaced.
