Finding peace with rest, recovery and retreat in Grasmere

This week I have mainly been continuing to feel a bit rough. I forgot that colds exist and that they wipe me out.

Unfortunately, I still give myself a bit of a hard time when I have an energy crash, partially out of disappointment at remembering that I have a long way to go in my recovery.

But enjoying feeling well when I have good days and living in that moment, rather than waiting for the crash, is important to me after too long a period of feeling no joy in life.

I am, however, much better at understanding that I have to stop and rest when I am this tiredand acting on it. And so, I have been sitting on the sofa with my feet up a lot this week.
