PDSA Vet Nurse Shauna Walsh answers all your pet questions

Ask our expert

Dear PDSA, my cat Luna seems unsettled now the house is quieter after Christmas. Is this normal in January? Josh

Hi Josh, it's completely normal for pets to take a little time to adjust once the festive excitement dies down.

Cats in particular can become sensitive to sudden changes in routine-during the holidays there may have been more people around, different noises and altered feeding times.

When everything suddenly becomes calm again in January, some cats can feel unsure or seek extra reassurance. Keeping Luna's routine predictable with regular mealtimes, play sessions and gentle interaction will help her settle.
