Man, 21, appears in court charged with murder of woman
Paramedics rushed to Smallbrook Queensway to treat Katie Fox, right, who had been stabbed on Friday night
TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman who died after being stabbed in the neck in Birmingham as the city's council leader said action will be taken to ensure the centre “remains safe”.
Katie Fox's friends described the 34-year-old as “a beautiful soul” after the horrific knife attack by the Bullring, in Smallbrook Queensway, at 9pm on Friday.
Djeison Rafael, 21, appeared before magistrates this week, charged with her murder.
Katie, from Rednal, suffered a serious injury to her neck and was rushed to hospital where she later died.
Council leader John Cotton said he was “shocked and deeply saddened by this appalling attack”.
