Mums who took Zara clothes in shoplift spree are spared jail

TWO mums who stole thousands of pounds worth of clothes in a shoplifting spree at Zara have been spared immediate jail.

Tracey Lamb, 47, and Joanna Braker, 46 targeted the store at Touchwood, in Solihull, on multiple occasions.

The pair, who have numerous previous convictions for stealing, also went along with Rachel Edwards, 54, who used an empty pushchair as a distraction.

The three woman, all from Leicestershire, took £4,867 of clothes between them.

Lamb, of Bushby, Leicestershire, admitted three charges of theft and one count of attempted theft while Braker, of Leicester, pleaded guilty to two theft offences and one attempted theft.

At Birmingham Crown Court, they both received 30 weeks suspended for 21 months and were each ordered to carry out 20 days of rehabiliation activity.
