Machete teen on 'Ramp' 'lucky' not to be locked up

A 17-year-old boy was told he was 'lucky' to avoid prison after pulling out a large machete at McDonald's on 'The Ramp' in Birmingham.

Police were called to a disorder involving more than 20 people at Stephenson Place, off New Street around 5pm on April 29 this year.
The youth, who cannot be named due to his age, got involved in a row with another male who he tried to chase into Grand Central only for others to hold him back.
The victim sought refuge inside McDonald's with police tracking down the youth to another restaurant in the station.
He confessed to having a machete in his waistband as he was being searched.
