Villa boss predicting a 'really busy' end to window

MANAGER Unai Emery has admitted Villa are in for a busy end to the transfer window.

It has been a challenging summer for the club, who are restricted by Premier League and UEFA financial regulations.

Villa have sold Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle for £40 million and allowed Leon Bailey to join AS Roma on loan. Emi Buendia could also depart amid interest from VfB Stuttgart

So far, only two players have joined Villa's first team this summer: Marco Bizot, for an undisclosed fee, and Evann Guessand in a deal worth £30 million.

"We are busy and involved in the last days of the window," said Emery. "We have to try and improve our squad. Maybe some players could leave, but they are not going to be relevant players in terms of our planning or the structure we want to build. I'm not expecting anything major."

Villa are hoping to bring Marco Asensio back to the club following his loan spell last season, though a deal is not yet close.
