A DAD went through a horrifying ordeal after his eight-year-old daughter received a mystery friend request on TikTok.

He told her not to accept it - but became suspicious when she came downstairs and asked for a pen to write down her phone number, a court heard.

The dad demanded to see her mobile and saw she had received messages from someone purporting to be a boy of the same age talking about having sex with her.

Posing as his daughter he continued the text exchange, which moved to WhatsApp.

To his horror it transpired he was actually talking to depraved pedophile Thomas Butler, who asked for intimate photos of the girl and ended up sending one of his penis. He was arrested a few months later by police.
