DISTRICT'S PROPERTY VALUES DOUBLE DESPITE DERELICT TOWER BLOCK

IN THE shadow of one of Birmingham's worst eyesores sits the city's most desirable area, where house prices have more than doubled in 12 months.

Five Ways South and Calthorpe Park, in Edgbaston, saw average house prices rocket from £235,000 in 2024 to £500,000 in 2025.

No other part of Birmingham experienced such a jump over the past year.

Tree-lined Frederick Road features beautiful homes and gated driveways - yet it sits beneath the abandoned and vandalised Five Ways Tower, which can be seen for miles.

The road sits in a conservation area and is governed by the Calthorpe Estate which imposes its own rules and regulations.
