Street racer jailed for putting others at risk

DRIVER ONE OF THREE APPEARING AT COURT AFTER POLICE CRACKDOWN
A STREET racer who showed blatant disregard for the rules of the road and put others at risk has been jailed and banned from driving.
Lee Healey, 34, from Yorklea Croft, Birmingham, was jailed for 26 weeks when he appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court after admitting a charge of dangerous driving. He was also given a two-year driving ban.
West Midlands Police said Healey was recorded driving at speeds of more than 100mph in a 40mph speed limit on March 9, among a large number of vehicles parked up, which indicating a street racing event was taking place on Damson Parkway.
Two more men also received suspended sentences, told to carry out community service and banned from the roads after appearing at the court on the same day.
