Holyhead Supermarket in Holyhead Road, Handsworth

The Birmingham City Council officers used two girls to test Holyhead Supermarket in Holyhead Road, Handsworth, in March, after concerns were raised about illegal vape sales.

The 15-year-olds visited the shop just after 7pm on Thursday, March 12, accompanied by Trading Standards officer, Rabinder Mander.

Mr Mander went in the shop first and the girls followed and went to the counter.

There were two young men behind the counter and the girls asked for a Pro Max Vape which was on a shelf.

They were handed the vape and were able to pay the £9 charge and leave with it.

Trading Standards said: “At no time were they asked their age or for any identification.”
