'Silly' hen do stunt left bride-to-be paralysed

WEDDING WENT AHEAD AS PLANNED WEEKS LATER - ONLY IN A HOSPITAL
A WOMAN'S “silly” hen do stunt left her paralysed from the chest down just weeks before her wedding.
Bride-to-be Carla Horton, 44, was celebrating with friends in Skegness when she attempted a party trick while getting ready to go out for the evening.
"I made a silly misjudgement," the 44-year-old said. "I tried to do a stunt which I was just too old to do, and it resulted in me fracturing the top of my neck and being paralysed from the chest down."
Carla, from Dudley, was knocked unconscious for a moment and later realised she couldn’t move. An ambulance was called before Carla’s friends rang her future husband, Craig Bolton.
Craig said: "When I was told what had happened, my world caved in. I drove to Boston Hospital and saw Carla in resuscitation, all strapped up. It was the absolute shock of my life."
Craig and Carla were planning to get married five weeks later, on Friday, May 30, at St Chad's Church in Coseley.
