PM rules out pub bombings public inquiry

PRIME minister has Sir Keir Starmer has refused to commit to a full public inquiry into the deaths of the 21 victims of the 1974 Birmingham Pub Bombings.

Sir Keir said the families will “never be forgotten” - but added that the atrocity would be looked at alongside other deaths in the Troubles under a legacy scheme agreed with the Irish government.
Speaking to the BBC, Sir Keir said the scheme was designed to get to the bottom of all issues, including the pub bombings.
Pressed on a public inquiry, he said:
