Pensioners lose £115k to crypto cash scammers

FRAUDSTERS tricked a Midland couple into believing they'd invested £115,000 in cryptocurrency.
The scam was uncovered when their bank contacted Staffordshire Police after an elderly woman requested a £40,000 loan to send to an online company.
Police said the company was advertised on social media and claimed to trade in cryptocurrency on behalf of victims - but only if they continued to top-up their accounts with cash.
