CRAIG Gardner has revealed the pick-me-up conversation he had with chairman Tom Wagner moments after Blues' relegation that set the club up for League One domination.
Blues' time in the third tier has been short-lived with Chris Davies' side winning promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking with Tuesday night's victory at Peterborough.
The club is a world away from where it was last May when relegation from the Championship was confirmed, despite a final-day victory over Norwich.
Davies arrived and a clear-out followed with Blues acquiring 17 new players - many of whom will be tasked with competing in the second tier next season.
