Man is jailed for life for murdering own father

SON HAD DUG GRAVE IN GARDEN OF GROUND-FLOOR FLAT THEY SHARED
A MAN has been jailed for life for murdering his dad, whose body was found in a cardboard box due to be buried in a freshly-dug grave-sized hole in their garden.
Staffordshire Police were called over concerns for 67-year-old Anthony Sykes, known as 'Tony, after he had not been seen for a number of days.
Officers went to Tony's ground-floor flat, which he shared with his 41-year-old son Thomas, in Byron Road, Tamworth, in August 2022.
While officers were there, they became concerned about Thomas' demeanour and conducted a search for Tony outside.
