NEW PRODUCTION COMPANY AIMS TO BRINGS TV AND FILM TO REGION
Screenwriter Steven Knight, the man behind Peaky Blinders, is backing Production Central WM
PEAKY Blinders creator Steven Knight has urged filmmakers to “try us” following the launch of a West Midlands agency.
Production Central WM will look to support film, TV and digital content and ensure more productions are created in this region and will aim to connect industry professionals to locations, facilities and talent in the West Midlands.
It has been funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and will be delivered by the West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC).
The new office, based in Birmingham, will serve the whole region and be managed at WMGC by Martin Simms, who has more than two decades of experience in the film and TV sector.
The Mail reported on Saturday how Knight was keen for Birmingham to be the ‘hub for making film and television’.
