Leaders Arrows thrash Ridge in Cup

LEAGUE Cup week in the Sheldon and District Summer League round one in which group one leaders Raven Arrows handed out a 7-0 whitewash to hosts Sheldon Marlborough Ridge from group three.

Group one’s second team Langley Arrows were not far behind Raven with their 6-1 success at group two side RAFA with Dan Nicholls chalking up a maximum for the winners. Trident Spears (group one) beat their group four hosts Sheldon Marlborough Flights 4-3 with Connor Cupkovic hitting a 180 for the home team.

In a group one versus group three clash, once again it was the top grouped team that came out on top as Highwood won 6-1 against Shirley Misfits.

The remaining group one team Brian’s Flights lost 4-3 at home to group two leaders Banbury Club. The all-group two encounter saw Smithswood Social Club just get the 4-3 edge on their opponents EBAHA with Lewis Franklin notching a maximum for Smithswood. Hunters Moon who are bottom of group two lost 5-2 at Raven who are second in group three. The all-group three fixture between Moseley Rugby Club and Langley Flights was again a close encounter with the former booking their place in the next round with a narrow 4-3 victory.

The Harborne and District League had the semifinals of their League Cup and Consolation Cup, in the former despite a maximum from A. Heath, Weoley Castle WMC made their exit as they finished on the wrong side of the 5-2 result against Copper Fox ‘R’ joining Copper Fox ‘R’ in the final will be Weoley Castle Pub who were awarded their game with Northfield Conservative Club.

In the last-four games of the Consolation Cup, a maximum from A Harvey helped Copper Fox ‘M' to a 6-1 win over Thimble Mill while Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club had a 4-3 success against Lion Bar.
