14-YEAR SENTENCE FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING AFTER GRANDMA KILLED

- KELLY ASHMORE News Reporter

A DANGEROUS driver who inhaled balloons filled with nitrous oxide gas has been jailed for almost 15 years for killing a 'kind and compassionate' Midland grandmother in a crash.

Helen Klich had retired from the NHS just six days before her death on December 21, 2023.

The 67-year-old was a passenger in a Kia which flipped onto its roof after being hit by a black BMW being driven by Stephen Smart on the A5 in Cannock.

Helen, a mother-of-two and grandmother-of-four, suffered catastrophic injuries and died at the scene.
