Drink driving arrest after police officer 'punched'

A MAN has been arrested after a female police officer was reportedly punched in the throat.

The incident happened after a Ford Ranger crashed into a wall on Robert Street in Lower Gornal, Dudley.

Police were called to the scene at around 5.30am yesterday and found a man walking away from the area.

The officer tried to stop the man from entering a nearby Range Rover which was being driven by a second person.
